If you’ve made the decision to obtain your nursing license and become a registered nurse through the Florida Board of Nursing , you must first pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). As the nationwide demand for registered nurses continues to grow, so do the new opportunities for those graduating nursing school. At Florida Vocation Institute (FVI), we offer an NCLEX review course to students enrolled in our Associate of Science in Nursing degree program.
The curriculum of our RN Nursing program was specifically developed to prepare students for the current NCLEX-RN exam and the NextGen NCLEX-RN (NGN). NCLEX prep starts at the beginning of the Nursing program and includes NCLEX review classes, video tutorials, test-taking practices, and clinical judgment exercises. Students get to test their knowledge at every milestone within the program.
Registered Nurse Job Outlook
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of Registered Nurses is projected to grow 7 percent from 2019 to 2029, faster than the average for all occupations. The Florida Center for Nursing (FCN) projects over 50,300 vacancies for Florida RN jobs by 2025. A growing and aging population will lead to more demand for skilled nursing facilities, home health services, and acute, long-term care.
Warm weather and the absence of an individual state income tax has historically attracted retirees to the Sunshine State. Florida remains a popular retirement destination for Americans. As more elderly patients move to the state, the demand for skilled nursing services will only go up. Higher rates of chronic diseases among all age groups and emerging health trends will also increase the demand for licensed nurses.
What Can I Expect?
This NCLEX prep course is only offered to students enrolled in our Nursing Associate of Science program. It is designed to prepare students for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and the NextGen NCLEX-RN (NGN) while they work toward their associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) at FVI School of Nursing. NCLEX review classes, practice exams, clinical judgment exercises, and video tutorials are given at regular intervals throughout the program.
Students will also go through several test-taking strategies and technique training to increase their chances of getting a passing score on the exam and obtaining their nursing license. When our students have completed the program and are ready to take the actual NCLEX-RN exam, it will feel like second nature, giving nursing graduates the best chance of passing on their first attempt!
